Urban Mole: Parcel Transporting Solution For 2020

A runner-up at the VisionWorks contest sponsored by Bayer MaterialScience, the Urban Mole by Phillip Hermes is a transportation solution for 2020 that will move your important parcels, oops… through the sewers, briskly as well as safely in the cramped cities. Keeping the streets and roads free for traffic, the Urban Mole travels through the existing network of underground pipes to transport the packages up to the size of a shoebox. Much like a miniature subway, the pipe system generates power with electric rails inside the pipes, giving an entirely new meaning to the “duty free shipping.” The Urban Mole not only moves your parcels quickly, but also fully protects the stuff from adjacent wastewater.
