Supersonic Green Machine By Nasa And Lockheed Martin

Commercial supersonic flights were limited to the great Concorde. The aircraft was able to fly at Mach 2 and drastically reduce the travel time of passengers. However, with deafening sonic boom that occurs when the aircraft crossed the sound barrier and the amount of fuel needed to achieve these high speeds, supersonic aviation hasn’t caught on.

Aerion Corp. Planning A Supersonic Business Jet

With ever pressing time limits on business, and the lack of any specific, high speed airplane to function as a business jet, Aerion Corporation is seeing an opportunity with a supersonic business jet. The company is already taking deposits for its 8-seater, and 12-seater business jets which it claims will be able to fly at a speed of 1.5 Mach.

Developing Silent Quiet Supersonic Transport With Eco Conscience

When talking of going live in the jet age, we talk of prospective realities like the WaveRider and the laser propelled engines. But the environmental bearings of these rides have been least considered. Taking the issue in consideration, Supersonic Aerospace International is leaned into doing the Quiet Supersonic Transport (QSST), which’ll cut the noise pollutions and emissions drastically and propel a future of high-speed passenger jets.
With the prototypes in concern, Aerospace International promises to deliver supersonic jets with speeds close to Mach 1.8 but about 100 times quieter than the Concorde – ranging over 4000 nautical miles. Aerospace in order to meet this feat of sound minimization, have used a combo of aerodynamic shaping of the ‘v-tail’ with the state-of-the-art engine design.
The engines will be designed to meet prescribed emission standards in high-altitude flights, while the jets with such environment ethics will be ready for flight by 2014, and deliverable to customers by 2016.
