We are fast embracing design concepts that will help redefine our urban environment. PCK Bike has been designed by a group of Taiwanese designers: Yen-chi Yu, Cheng-Yu Tseng and Chao-Han lee. . The sleek looking electric bike easily collapses into a portable unit and also has storage space for user belongings.
The environmentally friendly design aims at reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions on the busy Taiwanese roads by facilitating cycling for short distance travel. The PCS bike was part of the ‘Fun Taiwan, new design’ and on display during the DMY International Design Week Berlin 2010.

It can do any kind of terrain. It’s built to help doctors and rescue teams save lives. It’s there for you in case disaster strikes. It’s small and has unique features that make it different than other similar products and it’s called the Bull Frog. The design team composed of James Thompson, Jeff Pinard, Isabelle Tremblay and Rob Vandenhoek, gathered around the drawing board to try and find a better solution for transporting medical supplies to remote locations across difficult terrain. They came up with the Bull Frog. A simple exterior shape, but a cleverly designed interior, make the “little helper” stand tall amongst its competitors. The main selling point of the Bull Frog is the fold out work station it provides. This allows rescuers to efficiently treat the victims on site, while there utensils are carried by their “assistant”.

After seeing this bike, one can believe that Sci-fi age isn’t too far. Well, conceived by Thdudesign, a product design forum member, as a bike for the Sci-fi age, the machine is powered by jet engine and has been designed for travel and pleasure alike. Dubbed the Magnet Quad, Sci-fi bike’s wheels are fixed with magnetic force to perform a dual role: it not only allows them to move up and down but also work as suspension for the bike. Well, in our time when the roads are gradually running out of space to incorporate the vast number of vehicles; the ones that can run on ground and take to the skies to avoid the traffic jams comes out as a vital solution. However, are we going to make sky as miserable as what we’ve made our roads? It may take time for a bike to take to the sky, but nothing can be put beyond imagination.
