Fabric-clad futuristic KG-1 concept is full of possibilities

Unveiled at the AutoRAI 2009, the KG-1 concept KesselsGranger DesignWorks is very “different” and futuristic. First off, the asymmetric shape of the concept is inspired from nature, precisely, from the anatomy of the human body. The semi-integral frame is a carbon fiber reinforced structure covered by a high-tech textile. Even with all the thoughts and pragmatism thrown into the design, it’s the textile covering developed by TenCate that steals the show, mostly with the immense possibilities it has.
The textile can perform numerous functions; it is strong, flexible, biodegradable, and it can be made to be dust repellant, fire retardant, water repellant, solar powered, with headlights woven into the textile, and the bodywork that moves with the steering movement, something very similar to motion in a human body.
