CELL– A Futuristic Electric Vehicle With Shape Changing Mechanism by Tom Kent
Designed by Tom Kent to steer through traffic jams easily and to reduce the green house gas emission, this three wheeled electric car concept is not only lightweight and consumes less space but also more efficient than its four-wheeled counterparts. In order to filter through thick traffic or congested streets, the driver can control the width of the front track. The narrow mode can be used only at a speed less than 200mph. The mechanism makes the chamber alter slightly and the rear wheel steering is activated to improve stability.
Hailed as ‘Cell’, the concept is a zero emission car as it is powered by built-in electric engine. Additionally, the vehicle also features the see through solar panels mounted on its roof and sides to harness the solar energy. The energy harnessed charge the on board batteries, while allowing natural gas to illuminate the cabin. Hence it comes out to be an ideal vehicle for the future with overcrowded traffic and to cut the level of carbon dioxide emissions considerably.
