Conceived by auto designer Adrian Carrera and inspired by half a dozen sources, The Carrera Raptor RS is an electric powered racing GP motorcycle. It is powered by a pair of electric motors placed inside the whole shape of each tire. Further, the rim in each tire holds an internal rim which rotates with the tire and brake disc. And, in order to turn bike on the curves, biker has to lean in the desired direction.

Inspired by the old Moto Guzzi productions single cylinder bikes’ style, designer Paolo De Giusti has designed three Naked bikes that flaunt their extra good looks and green credentials. Designed to be romantic is the “900 SD Big Mono Naked” that uses diesel/electric engines and comes in the red and the black models. It uses a single cylinder 903 cc with direct injection and turbo diesel engine that makes it ideal for fast riding.

Combining the freedom of a motorbike with the comfort of a car, Swedish designer Mika Becktor has developed a vehicle concept named the “Solis” that allows more efficient and economic ways of commutation. Integrating solar panels in its exterior, the futuristic vehicle converts solar energy into electricity to be stored in the battery, or the user can hook it up to the grid to pay for parking in cramped urban environments. Running on the wheels with built-in motors fed by electric batteries, the Solis not only allows in-wheel drive but also vacates a lot of space to ensure a roomy interior. Essentially a single-seater, the solar car can accommodate another seat behind the rider that when not required folds to create a large storage space. Featuring a low center of gravity, the concept car looks safer in comparison to contemporary smart cars.

We are fast embracing design concepts that will help redefine our urban environment. PCK Bike has been designed by a group of Taiwanese designers: Yen-chi Yu, Cheng-Yu Tseng and Chao-Han lee. . The sleek looking electric bike easily collapses into a portable unit and also has storage space for user belongings.
The environmentally friendly design aims at reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions on the busy Taiwanese roads by facilitating cycling for short distance travel. The PCS bike was part of the ‘Fun Taiwan, new design’ and on display during the DMY International Design Week Berlin 2010.
