BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept Car
BMW has unveiled its Vision EfficientDynamics concept, and the car with slightly exaggerated but stunning looks is headed for a Frankfurt debut. The plug-in vehicle is a full hybrid and has a 1.5-l three-cylinder turbodiesel engine to work with its lithium polymer batteries. The engine is supported by two electric motors, with one motor placed between the engine and the DCT and the other positioned at the rear of the vehicle.
The combined maximum power output for all three engines is fixed at 356hp, while the max torque goes all the way to 590 lb-ft. BMW says that the batteries can be fully charged off the standard European power outlet in just 2.5 hours. The automaker puts the overall range of the car at 431 miles and fuel efficiency of 62.2mpg. To make the pot sweeter, the performance figures are good as well, the concept goes from zero to 100kmph in just 4.8 seconds, and has a top speed of 155mph.
